I’ve spent 16 years as a makeup artist in film and television. I work with actors and non-actors of all genders and ages. Getting ready for the camera is a vulnerable time. People rely on me to care for their looks, maintain a character, or put their best face forward for a press interview. The worries I hear most are about looking older, “You can make me look 20 years younger, right?” A great makeup transforms for the day but I wanted to offer people something more.
Truth: I was losing my own cuteness! I was sleep-deprived and over-worked: all heavy lidded eyes, dark circles, and slack cheeks. My upper lip was disappearing; jaw discomfort and neck tension were daily struggles. Another makeup artist mentioned the Face Yoga Method - thinking it would mesh with my holistic lifestyle. It did!
The Face Yoga Method helped me recognize my habits, my stressors, and improved my body posture. I learned what you will learn: that our faces are so much more than our looks. Our faces are barometers of our attention, feelings, and overall lives. Our faces can change us.
The techniques and exercises are easy to learn and practice. You can experience smoother, more nourished skin, improved facial tone, and see results of your own making! As you work with the facial muscles, you encounter yourself differently. Feeling vital while discovering what’s up with you! Nourishing yourself through your face is self-love and gives access to who you are right now, at any age.
These days, I teach online in private and small group sessions. We can make your time zone work. I design customized sessions to address your concerns in a relaxed and supportive environment.
